Setting and achieving personal goals is not a once-a-year process. It’s ongoing…annual, quarterly, monthly, weekly, and even daily. What’s more, now is one of the most strategic times to review and UPDATE your personal goals.

When and How to Review Your Goals. If you don’t regularly review your personal goals, your goals are just fairy-tale wishes. So here are a couple of thoughts on when and how to review your goals.
Regularly. If you were to ask if “regularly” means monthly, weekly, or daily, I’d say “YES.” Bottom line, the more you review your personal goals, the better. If you don’t review them, they will become a tool for shelf-help instead of self-help. Therefore, think deeply about your personal goals at least monthly. Additionally, use your personal goals to plan your week and then read your goals very morning to make sure you consistently focus on what matters most.
Consistently. Speaking of consistency, Tony Robbins says: “It’s not what we do once in a while that shapes our lives, it’s what we do consistently.” Goals cannot shape your life if you review them regularly this month but not next month. Consistency is key.
Update Your Goals NOW. Goals are targets. Accomplishments you believe will lead you towards your dreams. As you live it forward, the vision of your dreams will improve. This means you’ll have a clearer understanding as to whether your personal goals are helping you achieve your dreams or not. As you gain more insight, you’ll know which goals are worth keeping, which need to be adjusted, and which should be dropped. Since July is the halfway point for the year, it’s a great time to take an in-depth look at your personal goals and update them accordingly.
