If you boiled life down to one philosophy that brings meaning and adds value to your life no matter what circumstances you face, what is that philosophy for you?

Everything has a solution. If you have to look for ten years to figure out a solution to your problem, keep looking. Keep moving forward. Most answers will not walk up to you and jump in your head.

What are one or two keys to success for you?

Patience and support. When I decided to make the leap from a full-time job making a passable wage to starting a business in which I have skills but little full-time experience, my wife stood behind me and always encouraged me. She had patience; I had to grow mine. Slowly, with hard work and determination, things started to happen. My life has changed a great deal, all for the better.

What is one of the biggest mistakes you've made and what did you learn from it?

I can be scattered. My mind runs a mile a minute. Often I am doing something important and…(squirrel)…I am distracted. I've been like this for most of my life and have lived without setting goals and priorities. That is changing. I keep a calendar and a to-do list. I'm also learning to say “no” to unimportant time wasters.

What is your best advice for people who want to SHOW UP AND SHINE? In other words, what would you say to help people live into their bigger story?

Life balance. Make time to work HARD and then counter it with time to PLAY and REST. Nothing will help you live into your bigger story more than authentic life balance.

Additionally, always be learning. Read nonfiction books. Talk with people who are doing what you love to do and hang out with high-potential people. Read blogs pertaining to your life and business. Listen to people like Dan Miller, Michael Hyatt, and Kent Julian. Read everything they write and take their words to heart. Do what you love and love what you do. Grow!

Question: Andy talks a lot about life balance. What is one thing you do to create life balance?
