Do you want to be happy? Then it is best to let go of a few things ASAP. Here are 7 things you can drop that will help you experience more happiness.
7 Things to Drop if You Want to Be Happy
Drop the Worry. Stop worrying about the future and other things that are out of your control. Instead, focus on what you can control and take action in those areas.
Drop the Stinking Thinking. Do you fill your mind with mindlessness? Mindless TV? Mindless radio? Mindless tabloids? When you fill your mind with piles and piles of mindlessness, you’ll develop stinking thinking. If, however, you fill your mind with mind-full resources like inspiring books, positive podcasts, and real connections with real people, you’ll replace sticking thinking with stellar thoughts.
Drop the Low Grade Fuel. Food is fuel. Low grade fuel like simple sugars and processed foods causes your body to run poorly and breakdown more often. Premium fuel like lean protein, fruits, vegetables, and healthy fats keeps your body running smoothly and powerfully. Even more, when you put this premium fuel to work through exercise, you instantly boost your feelings and mood.
Drop the Drama. Don’t hang out with Drama Kings or Queens. As Jim Rohn said, “You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.”
Drop the Excess. Most things in moderation are fine. But even good things, taken to the extreme, can be harmful. Therefore, find work you love and work hard, but don’t work in excess. Exercise to stay in shape, but don’t become an exercise fanatic. Eat, drink, and be merry, but be careful of going overboard.
Drop the Yes. Want to guarantee your unhappiness? Then say “yes” to everything! If, instead, you want to be happier, take control of your life and learn how to say “no.”
Drop the Comparing. You cannot be happy if you constantly compare yourself with others. You are you and you were put on this earth to be you. What’s more, you have been blessed with gifts that only you can give to the world. Embracing this truth is one of the surest ways to be happy.
