How To Be Happy?
We’re all striving for happiness. It’s even written in the Declaration of Independence… “the pursuit of happiness.” But the question still remains, how do we be happy?
According to Denis Waitley…
You cannot go to Hawaii to find happiness.
A new car or house will not bring you happiness.
Becoming a New York Times bestseller or a highly sought-after speaker does not guarantee happiness.
A new suit or dress won’t make you happy.
No amount of money can buy true happiness.
Happiness is the spiritual experience of living every minute with love, grace, and gratitude. According to Denis Waitley, that’s how to be happy.
In a world full of consumerism and with a mindset of ‘never enough,’ let us learn to be content with what we have been given and live with love, grace, and gratitude.
One last thought. For me, joy is even more valuable than happiness. Happiness is momentary. It’s an emotion often connected to an external experience. Joy, on the other hand, is cultivated internally. And according to the Bible, ultimate joy comes from Jesus (see Galatians 5:22).
So happiness is great, but true joy is so much better!
